No View, The Radio VII
Katilluik and the Warp
Bill Orcutt

Bill Orcutt is a virtuoso guitarist from the US whose playing combines the very rich history of American guitar folk with the physicality and noise of free jazz. For this reason he stands out as a very unique character in both fields of music, his work being both melodic and emotionally rich yet very expressive and explosive, and often free from rhythm and traditional structures. This piece, an improvisation performed specifically for this series, is an example of his more melodic and meditative playing, serving as a calming force, as the home made video exemplifies, a reflection on the subtle comfort found in certain everyday activities.

About the series: No View, The Radio
The arts are taking a break. Theaters, museums, concert halls and galleries are closed. To a large extent, the art that is so desperately needed right now is inaccessible. Imagine being quarantined at home without films, without books, without music. Though we may not access the art, we can still think about it. The enforced rupture of this isolation can also be an opportune moment to reflect on and from, the arts. Every Friday for the upcoming weeks we will showcase original musical works by different artists, selected by Alex Andropoulos.
