Vlaardingse Reus Rotterdam, 2002/2003. 8 x 10,5 x 5,5 meter; salvaged wood, nails, screws and rope. In the scope of Jeanne van Heeswijk’s social art project De Strip in the city of Vlaardingen, Hofman was assigned to make a sculpture out of salvaged wood. It took three months to build, with the assistance of local people. The sculpture is an assemblage, and although the quality of the wood was poor, it stood on two other locations after being shown for 2.5 hours on its primary location, the Westwijk in Vlaardingen. Rabbits never sit still for too long!
